This edgy establishment on Restaurant Row specializes in gourmet burgers, elevated
menu items and a large selection of spirits that are served with a side of rock and roll.
The Whiskey's story began to take shape after the photo shoot took place. With a clear
focus on freshly prepared menu items, we added a gritty, rock-and-roll effect to the
photos after the fact by using a deeper contrast and saturation of color during our edits.
This resulted in bold images that perfectly displayed what The Whiskey is all about.
The set for the food images was truly authentic. We set up shop in the middle of the
dining room, using one of the rugged wooden tables to hold each plate and inviting
natural light to illuminate the shots through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The menu items
were prepared fresh for each shot and were artistically styled to highlight the beauty of
the ingredients.
We also went behind the scenes to capture the chefs and bartenders in action. Inviting
the customer to be a part of the meal's creation in this way mimicked their experience
inside the restaurant with its open kitchen.
To truly capture the rock star atmosphere at The Whiskey, we photographed several
design elements of the restaurant space. From rock memorabilia and images of famous
musicians on the walls to the view of the burgers hitting the flame through the open
kitchen and the dark, cavernous feel of the entire space, we wanted these architectural
images to set the tone for the customer experience.
